Sydney J. McKay

President - founding partner

Sydney has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors.  His primary focus and field of expertise is in human resource development, while strategic planning, governance and economic development also remain significant areas of interest.  Sydney guides the overall direction of the company.

A member of Cumberland House Cree Nation, Sydney grew up in Northern Manitoba.  Prior to founding Indigenuity Management Services in 2010, his long career included successful engagements with a variety of organizations, such as the Swampy Cree Tribal Council, Hobbs and Associates, the Nuna Group of Companies, Marcel Colomb First Nation, the Keewatin Tribal Council, the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs, the Manitoba Metis Federation, the Canada Employment and Immigration Commission, and Native Communications Inc (NCI radio). 

Fluent in English and Cree, Sydney also speaks some French and a little Tagalog.  He splits his time between Prince Albert and Cumberland House, Saskatchewan, where Indigenuity Management Services is headquartered.

Steffen Knippel

VICE PRESIDENT, PARTNER

Steve has over thirty-five years of experience in economic development, negotiation strategy and implementation, human resource program development and evaluation, socio-economic impact assessment and mitigation, and statistical analysis and database development.  

Born and raised in Ottawa, Steve successfully completed numerous consulting contracts in developing countries around the world, before moving to Winnipeg in 2000 to begin his work with First Nations.  He accepted the invitation to become an equity partner in Indigenuity Management Services in 2011, and commutes to Saskatchewan as required.

James Elliott

GENERAL MANAGER, PARTNER

Jim was engaged by Indigenuity Management Services in 2013 to manage its finances and operations. Before joining Indigenuity, Jim helped manage the growth of what began as a one-person consultancy in 1984, to what became the most successful company of its kind in Manitoba. His experience and expertise is integral to the development of Indigenuity Management Services.
